About

Joanna Weiss is editor-in-chief of Experience, a general-interest magazine (expmag.com) that also produces interactive installations and immersive events. All are geared toward promoting ideas embedded in a Northeastern education: the value of experience at the intersection of humanity and technology.

A veteran journalist, Joanna spent 16 years as a reporter, editor, and columnist at the Boston Globe, and also worked as a reporter at the Times-Picayune of New Orleans. Her writing has appeared in Politico Magazine, The Atlantic, Slate, Pacific Standard, The Economist, and other publications. Joanna is a regular commentator on politics and culture on Boston’s WGBH television and radio, and has appeared on local, national, and international TV and radio outlets, from CNN to Britain’s Monocle 24. She has lectured on journalism, media, and politics at Northeastern and other Boston-area universities.

Joanna graduated from Harvard University with a degree in history and literature.
